Who are we?

BirdieBen is a golf tracking app developed by Richard Haeser. You can contact us at privacy@birdieben.app.

What data do we collect?

BirdieBen collects the following data when you create an account and use the app:

  • Name and email address (for your account)
  • Golf-related data: rounds played, scores, handicap index, golf courses
  • Goals you set (for example a handicap or rounds goal)
  • Optionally: home club, golf player number (GSN), gender, country

How do we use your data?

Your data is used primarily to operate the app: showing your rounds, tracking your handicap, following goals, and calculating statistics. We never sell your data. We only share data with the parties described below, and only to the extent needed to run the app and website.

Shared access

If shared access has been set up for your account (for example a parent managing their golfing child's account), the account managing yours can view your rounds, scores and handicap progress.

Email marketing

We use Klaviyo to send our newsletter. If you sign up, we share your email address with Klaviyo to send the newsletter and see whether emails are opened. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every email.

Analytics

We use Matomo, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to understand how visitors use our website. This data is anonymized and only used in aggregate to improve the website; it is not used to identify you individually or sold to third parties.

Location data

The app optionally requests access to your location to show nearby golf clubs. Location data is not stored on our servers.

Where is your data stored?

Our servers are located in the EU, and your data is stored there.

Deleting your data

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing privacy@birdieben.app. We will process your request within 30 days.

Security

Data is transmitted securely over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
